BetBoom Team Adapt To Patch 7.38c And Win FISSURE Universe 4
After a silent 2025 season so far, the BetBoom Team have returned to form and won their first event of the year. The Eastern European squad defeated the Gaimin Gladiators in the Grand Final of FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 to win $250,000.
The BetBoom Team had a rough start to the event, barely scraping past the Group Stage with a 3 - 2 record, defeating Aurora to make it to the Playoffs. However, the 7.38c patch was dropped in the middle of the Playoffs, forcing teams to adapt. After the patch dropped, the BetBoom Team started playing much better than their competitors, cruising through the Upper Bracket to reach the Grand Final.
In the Grand Final series, the BetBoom Team utterly dominated the Gaimin Gladiators and ended the match in a 3 - 0 fashion. All three maps were extremely one-sided, and gpk~ even picked Kunkka in the first map, a hero we haven’t seen in the professional scene for months.
gpk~ ended FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 as highest-rated player, boasting an impressive KDA of 7.03 across 22 maps. The mid-laner left a short comment (translated):
"The match turned out to be simple, we prepared very well in drafts. Quinn takes strong laners for himself, but in the game he could not find himself. In the group, everything was relatively normal, we lost to Team Liquid, but this allowed us to analyze a lot of mistakes. NothingToSay played well in this tournament. We did not expect a patch in the middle of the tournament, but we enjoyed it, removed Dazzle, whom we did not want to take and added Templar Assassin, who suits us very well."
This marks the second tournament win for this iteration of the BetBoom Team, with them winning Blast Slam I at the end of 2024.
